FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
================================

Q: When I insert Tomb Raider CD into my CD-ROM drive it automatically
starts and I got setup on the screen.
A: Use the cursor keys, choose Exit by pressing Enter key. Then back
to installer and click Next to install Tomb Raider.

Q: I have Windows 98/98SE/ME. Should I install VDMSound software?
A: No, VDMSoftware is not needed in Windows 98. However, it is required
   for Windows 2000 or XP.

Q: When I use VDMSound and let the Installer to configure my sound card,
the game hangs before starting and there is a message:

C:\TOMBRAID\DOSDRV TOMB.EXE (no such command or filename)
   FAILED TO LOAD VDDLOADER.DLL

A: You probably installed VDMSound but your computer has not been restarted.
Restart the computer and start the game again, it should work.

Q: I'm using Glidos to start Tomb Raider, but what I get a is a black screen.
A: Start the game within Glidos. Then press ESC and after few seconds press
ESC again to skip introduction movies. After few moments you will be in
   the game main screen.

Q: I'm using Glidos, but the game seems to be too slow. What should I do?
A: If you are in the game press F4 to enable/disable mipmapping. If you are
in main menu, go to Graphic options and choose the 2nd option.

Q: I'm using dgVoodoo to start Tomb Raider, there is a background sound, but
I don't see any introduction movies. What should I do?
A: Start the game by double clicking on TOMB.VLP file located in C:\TOMBRAID
folder or click on TR desktop shortcut if it's created. Press ESC key two
times to skip introduction movies. After few moments you will be in the
game main screen and ready to go raiding.

Q: I'm using Advanced Installer to install Tomb Raider Gold. It installs fine,
but when I start the game an introduction movie starts, but then backs
to desktop. What should I do?
A: When playing TR1 Gold levels, you MUST extract additional files you have
downloaded from Tomb Raider Chronicles to C:\TOMBRAID directory BEFORE
installing TR1 Gold within Advanced Installer. Make sure you have a
subdirectory in TOMBRAID folder called DATA. Also, before playing TR1 Gold,
you need to insert original Tomb Raider CD.

Q: I'm using dgVoodoo with ATI graphic card and ATI Catalyst 4.7 drivers
(or higher). The game doesn't seem to work at all or it's not working
well. Is there any way I may use dgVoodoo with my ATI card?
A: Sorry, but dgVoodoo does not work well with ATI Catalyst 4.7 and latest
versions when using DOS Glide Wrapper. Please revert back to older drivers
or try to configure dgVoodoo options in dgVoodoo Setup (see below).

Q: I'm using dgVoodoo to play Tomb Raider. Which dgVoodoo settings are applied
automatically by Tomb Raider Advanced Installer?
A: Tomb Raider Advanced Installer implements the following dgVoodoo settings
automatically:	- 32 bit screen depth
			- FullScreen mode
			- VDD Mode (Windows XP)
			- 32 bit Direct3D textures depth
			- Enables W-buffering
			- Applies Texture memory size to 8192kB
			- Sets a screen resolution to 1024x768
			- Forces tripple buffering
			- Fixes TR1's shadow-problem

Q: My graphic card is fast enough and I think I may get better results than
the one that Tomb Raider Advanced Installer applied during setup. Is there
a way that may I configure dgVoodoo additionally to work with Tomb Raider.
A: Yes, there is. When installation is finished, check the following checkbox
'I want to setup dgVoodoo after Installer closes itself' or double click
dgVoodooSetup in C:\TOMBRAID folder. In Platform groupbox choose DOS.
Choose 32-bit screen depth. Then go to Glide tab and select 32-bit Direct3D
textures and resolution you want to use.

Q: I have an ATI graphic card, but when I start Tomb Raider within dgVoodoo,
my computer hangs. Is there a solution?
A: You need to start the game, but dgVoodoo VDD Mode needs to be disabled.
To disable VDD Mode, in the last step in Installer you need to check
'Disable dgVoodoo VDD Mode (ATI cards only)' checkbox. Double click on
'Disable VDD Mode' icon on your desktop. The following window should
appear: 'dgVoodoo v1.31 ServerProc for DOS'. Now click on Tomb Raider
icon located on desktop. When you finish playing the game, you need to
close 'dgVoodoo v1.31 ServerProc for DOS' window manually.

Q: In the left top corner of my computer screen the text "30FPS" appears
in gold-yellow characters. I remember that it wasn't there before, so why
is it there now, please? I wanna get rid of it!
A: Just press F2 key to hide it. To enable it, press F2 key again.
